It's the kind of call you pray that you never get - especially right before the holidays. You know, the kind that we hope only get made on Lifetime Original Movies. And yet there it was. We expect conversations with words like "turkey," "pie," and "train station." The words "sick" and "hospital" don't easily compute when so unexpected. Yet there they were.
We all have days and years like that. Sometimes we spend our holidays in unexpected places, getting ready to say goodbye. It's times like that which serve as a reminder to be grateful for all of the cozy days full of daily celebration.
A lovely actress that I met several years ago told me something very wise. She said, "It's times like these that we remember just how short life can be. I want you to know how much you mean to mean and I thank you for being in my life."
Wise words to remember as we enter the Holiday Season. Tell someone that you love them today.
